28 Days of Style: My Favorite February Outfits

Hey Dolls!

I think it's safe to say that my 28 days of style challenge was a huge fail! With almost bi-weekly snow storms I wasn't able to dress up as much as I would have liked to. Still I found opportunities to add a little glam to my look whenever possible. For today, Day 28, I'm sharing with you my two favorite outfits that I wore in the month of February!

My top favorite look this month was one I had envisioned from the moment I ordered this jersey tank top online - and I snagged it on sale for only $16, thank you coupons! I was dying for the opportunity to pull my vision to life and I got that chance last weekend. I went out to the movies to see the new Kevin Hart flick ("About Last Night" - hysterical by the way) and, hoping to impress my super cute date, I put on my new killer heels and the outfit I had been daydreaming about and I took over the night, heehee. New heels always make a woman feel like she can conquer the world! Here are the pics and deets from my favorite February outfit..

Outfit Deets:
Jersey Top: Express
Blazer: H&M
Jeans: Somewhere on Graham Ave, Brooklyn
Shoes: Forever 21

My 2nd top February outfit was one I wore to go surprise one of my best friends for her birthday! Her amazing fiance and sister planned a huge surprise dinner for her and myself along with about 10+ other lovely ladies just happened to be waiting for her at the restaurant. It was a blast and it felt great to see all my girls and do something to make my bestie feel special. I was definitely channeling my inner summer that day considering it was below freezing yet I found a way to make shorts work in the winter! Outfit deets and pics are below and I'm also including pictures of the delicious food (we ate Sofrito in midtown) and the girls - see if you can spot out some other amazing YouTubers in the pics..

Outfit Deets:
Tank Top: H&M
Long Cardigan: H&M
Shorts: JC Penny
High Socks: Target
Boots: H&M (they run extremelyyyy big! I got a 7 and would have needed a 5 or 5.5!)

Let me know what you think of my top 2 picks? What was your favorite February outfit? Also, would you guys like me to repeat this challenge during the spring?

See you soon my loves!

Rocio Laura

28 Days of Style: Street Style Love

Hey Boo Boo Cakes,

In the small moments in between one snow storm and the next I've managed to put together a couple of looks that I can share with you guys. They aren't as dressy and girly as I usually like but I have to wear snow, ice and slush appropriate foot wear - which has been driving me NUTS!

Here is a look from a week or two back when I went to see the Lego movie with Noel. I've been loving the casual, grunge-type street style lately. Snapbacks, ripped jeans, plaid, loveeeee! Enjoy this look!!

Sorry for the mirror pictures in all of my OOTDs lately, I haven't had anyone available that can help em take pics. As soon as possible I will try to figure out a solution so you guys can see better quality, nicer pictures in these posts.

Outfit Deets:
Tank Top - H&M
Hoodie Pullover Sweater - H&M
Leather Jacket - Leather shop in the Queens Center Mall
Jeans - PacSun
Denim Shirt - H&M
Boots - H&M (they run SUPER big.. I ordered online and needed at least 2 sizes smaller but I didn't want the hassle of exchanging through mail haha)
SnapBack - KarmaLoop

I've got two more OOTDs ready to post up for you this week so check babies <3

28 Days of Style: Day 6

Hiiiiiii!!!

Alright, so I'm sincerely questioning the intelligence of deciding to do this style challenge during the month of February. It's probably one of the coldest winter months plus we have had sooo much snow and more currently coming down. -insert super duper angry face here-

Most days I've just been riding out the bad weather at home in pj's and various comfortable sweatpants paired with oversized t-shirts from the mens section. I'm considering repeating this challenge during a warmer month... Maybe April? Would you guys like that?

Anywho, this outfit was from earlier this week. I dropped Noel off at pre-k and went to run some errands, which included picking up the book "Love and Misadventure" by Lang Leav from Barnes and Nobles and taking myself out on a Chipotle lunch date. I've learned that I am my own best company, and a good book of course. Here's what I wore:

Outfit Deets:

Turtle Neck Dress: DressLink

Love you babes!

28 Days of Style: Day 5 - Subtle Details

Hey lovelies!!

Today I'm sharing with you what I wore last night for my Day 5 look. (Yes I skipped over Day 4 because it was a super casual, lounge-at-home-all-day-type-of-day).

Yesterday, although the weather was terrible I had previously made dinner and a movie plans and definitely wanted to keep them. I would usually opt for heels and a nice blouse for something like that but I decided to stick to a more casual and overall warm look. Especially considering our recurring snow storms in NYC the last week or so.

I had to throw in a pop of color via my sneakers. Hey, I'm all for all black everything but it's been a long winter and I do miss wearing bright colors! Also, yesterday was the perfect excuse to try out my new jacket. I love it for it's versatility, although I still haven't figured out all the various ways you can wear it. (I'm going to have to study the 10+ pictures on the website to see my other options) It IS technically a men's jacket but having grown up with 2 older brothers I'm no stranger to wearing boy clothes, and you can't beat the comfort!

When it comes down to it, this outfit for me was all in the subtle details. The netted stripes on the sleeve of the sweater paired with the mesh panels on the leggings and the edgy gold accessories all added visual interest to the look. It was the details that really took a plain all black casual look to the next level. Hope you enjoy this one!

Outfit Deets:

Jacket: www.yesstyle.com
Sweater: Express
Leather and Mesh Leggings: Express
Sneakers: Lebrons
Rings: All from H&M except the rose midi ring is from Daily Look
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelets: Various
Necklace: Aldo

Praying for better weather soon so I can wear some of the new pieces I've been accumulating for Spring. =0]

Until tomorrow,

Rocio Laura xoxo

28 Days of Style: Day 3 Dark and Glamorous

Hi Beauties!!

Today I'm sharing with you my outfit from last night. I had hoped to get it up yesterday but I got back home too late to prepare this post. In the end, it worked out perfectly because today I've just been home in pj's all day. I woke up feeling under the weather so I decided to take it easy today and gather back my strength. So unfortunately I have no stylish Day 4 outfit for you guys but I hope you enjoy what I wore last night.

I received a last minute invitation to a Brooklyn Nets basketball game last night and had to rush to pull together an entire look in about an hour. Being a Brooklyn girl born and raised, missing the game was not an option. To cut corners I stuck with quick messy top knot for my hair and a simple smokey eye with a bold red lip. For my outfit I was feeling dark and glamorous as I attempted to channel my inner Beyonce. Overall, I was happy with the final look. What do you guys think? What did you wear yesterday to start off your week?
