Fall Night Time Routine | Get UnReady With Me | +Giveaway

Disclosure: This is a sponsored blog post.

Hey Babies!!!

It's been quite some time since I've been active here. For some reason, my blog and twitter are the two social media outlets that I always seem to completely forget about. I genuinely do love to write and want to make it a priority to post here more often, like before. As for twitter, well, I think I'll pass - no offense you cute little blue bird.. or is it white?

Any who, today let's kick off the upcoming season with my Fall Night Time Routine or "Get UnReady With Me". I posted a video on my YouTube channel sharing my routine which includes both what I do on a nightly basis as well as a few extra steps that I add in on Friday nights as part of a weekly at-home pamper-yourself spa-night type-thing... What a mouthful!

I want to talk a little more in depth about some of the products I shared with you guys in the video. Also there's a huge $100 giveaway as part of this post as well - more deets on that in a bit!

I mentioned in the video that I have these weird tiny bumps that I've had for as long of my life as I can remember and they never seem to go away. I vaguely remember my mom taking me to a dermatologist when I was younger and subsequently applying some special cream or moisturizer that they prescribed. I was too young to really remember many details but I do remember my mom putting it on me after showers and it was a plain unscented white cream with a similar consistency as the AmLactin line. Now if it was the same brand, a different brand, or if the brand I used as a little girl still exists (it's been quite some many many years since then), I'm not sure. What I do know is that the similarities jogged my memories and made me instantly feel a type of connection to the brand - super weird I know but it was a comforting thought.

Now as an adult I've learned that those bumps have a name: Keratosis Pilaris. This affects about 40% of the adult population, which is a huge amount! Some people get little bumps, like me, while others can get dry or rough patches. It can happen at any age but thankfully it generally is not itchy or painful. I've never felt any type of discomfort from my bumps.

I have however felt self conscious at times, especially dating or starting a new relationship, if my guy goes to touch or grab my arm I always wonder what he's thinking or if he feels the bumps. At least now I can put a name to it if the conversation ever comes up. I also feel better knowing it's a fairly common and completely normal thing. KP is caused simply by a buildup of keratin. There's really no specific reason why the keratin builds up, it just happens sometimes and having dry skin can make the patches worse. There's also no cure for KP but once again, keeping your skin well moisturized can help the condition.

Before I even learned about KP I always knew I had dry or sometimes severely dry skin, depending on the weather and seasons. I always have to gravitate towards products that will give me the proper hydration I need. The entire AmLactin skin care line, as well as the other products in my fall night time routine video are great for dry skin.

I currently am using the AmLactin moisturizing body lotion. I use it right when I get out of the shower to really lock in the moisture. I love that it's unscented because I prefer to shower at night and personally I don't like strong scents when I'm trying to fall asleep. It's also non-greasy which is my top priority when it comes to any moisturizer. I absolutely detest anything that makes me feel greasy, slimy or sticky afterwards. The AmLactin line rubs in quickly and leaves behind only fresh clean moisturized skin. The line has different products to combat various levels of dryness. This one (I call it the green one - super creative, Rocio -__-) has 12% lactic acid, provides an intense hydration and also gently exfoliates the skin. The first time I used it I noticed that my skin overall actually did feel softer the next morning. As for the dry patches on the back part of my arms, I noticed those feeling smoother after about 5 or 6 days of consecutive use.

As the weather gets colder and we move more into winter I'll be transitioning to the AmLactin ultra body cream or the "purple one" as I like to refer to it. This one is also fragrance free and absorbs super quickly into the skin. It's targeted toward helping to heal severely dry areas. For those who get severe dry patches from KP this is a great option.

I also showed you guys the AmLactin foot cream in the video. I la la la love this stuff!! It's great for helping to prevent splits and cracks and it also helps smooth calluses. My heels especially get really cracked if I don't regularly give my feet some TLC. Just like the other products this one is fragrance free and dries quickly - considering it's going on my feet that makes me especially happy. Who wants greasy feet? I'm clumsy enough all on my own without slipping and sliding around as I try to moisturize my feet.

To learn more about the brand check out their website and FaceBook page.
There's also a great video on the AmLactin YouTube page that explains how exactly lactic acid works better than I ever could. To check out their video click [HERE]
