Beanie Season OOTD

Hey Babies!!

In true fashion of casual Fridays I wanted to share one of my favorite casual looks with you today. Pants look familiar? Yes, they were also featured in my Monday post and honestly have to be one of my favorite pants that I own right now! They're such a statement piece but you can style them in so many different ways - plus black and leather, I don't have to say any more.

Todays post is extra special because, in tribute to my beanie, all of these photos are completely un-retouched and have absolutely #nofilter - this is me, as the camera sees me. We don't walk around with a permanent filter in real life .. unfortunately lol .. so, for today at least, I'm sharing my natural self with all of you. I've learned over the years to love and accept myself just as I am and that's one lesson that I wish upon everyone. It can be a hard one to learn but it's also the most valuable.

For so many reasons this shoot is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do.

Before I go... can I just say Hoorayyyy for Beanie Season!!! I've missed you <3

The Most Important Promises We Make

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post created for Johnson's Baby and Latina Bloggers Connect in hopes of helping to spread their beautiful message of the promises made to our children. Enjoy, <3

Hey Beauties!

Today's blog post is something very special to my heart and I'm happy to be part of this new era for Johnson's Baby. As I sit here and type this post my, now 5 year old, little man is terrorizing my 7lb doggie, and all I can do is watch them and fill up with tears. Being parents and caretakers is probably the hardest job ever. We are responsible for the life and future of these little human beings. The thought alone is daunting and, frankly, terrifying. I've barely figured myself out, now I have to mold this little person into a caring, successful, happy, healthy, positive individual. Thankfully, we're not alone in this journey and Johnson's Baby is one of the brands that is on our side.

Recently there was some controversy about the ingredients in some of the Johnson's Baby products. Parents, grandparents, and caretakers from all walks of life expressed concerns that some of the ingredients used may not be safe for their babies. In actuality, the ingredients were perfectly safe, yet Johnson's Baby still stepped up and changed their formulas to give everyone some peace of mind. Besides being a brand, the company remembers that they too are people - they are moms and dads and aunt, uncles, grandparents, big sisters and brothers. They know that providing a safe and happy life for our little ones is the most important thing. As a mom who used Johnson's products when Noel was a baby, and still to this day that he is already a big, crazy, silly, energetic boy, that means a lot to me personally. From the bottom of my heart - Thank You to everyone over at Johnson's for caring!

As part of this heartfelt decision Johnson's Baby has started a whole campaign "Your Promise Is Our Promise". The company was inspired by a Japanese legend which states that folding 1000 origami cranes will signify a wish granted and a promise fulfilled. The idea is that this task is a labor of love and will therefore give positive results. The employees and their families got together to write down promises that they made to their own children, and then fold the paper up into origami cranes. They created a video about the experience, which I'll link here and also embed down below. Check it out and share it with your loved ones. Let me warn you, I was crying as I watched it.

Parents are humans as well. We get busy with work, wrapped up in life, stressed with multi-tasking. Sometimes it is important to remember the essentials. I'm going to take it back to basics and share with All Of You some of the promises I made to my son before he even took his first breath into this world.

Noel,
I promise to love you unconditionally no matter how many tattoos or piercings you show up home with (but please try to keep it to a limit). I promise to be there for you as a mom but more than anything as your best friend. I promise to make you feel comfortable to be able to tell me any and everything. After all, a true friend is someone who loves and cares about your well being - and so is a mother. I promise to always remember what it was like to be your age - whatever age you may be -and put myself in your place. I promise to take you to Sesame Place and the movies and all of the museums in NYC. I want you to be a happy baby, child, man. I promise to give you happy, fun and amazing experiences that you will remember for your entire life. To support you in all your endeavors. To help make all of your dreams come true. To put you before any one else and love you more than anything in this world. You're the most wonderful and beautiful thing that has ever happened to me and I promise to make you feel that way every single day.

Johnson's has promised to create the best quality products for their babies and ours. They have reformulated 7 products including: JOHNSON’S® Baby HEAD-TO-TOE® Wash, JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion, JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo, JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo & Conditioner for Thick and Curly Hair, JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo & Conditioner for Thin and Straight Hair, JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo with Calming Lavender, and JOHNSON’S® Baby Soothing Vapor Baby Bath.

What promises have you made to your little ones or loved ones?

I love you all!
Thank you for being a part of my life, my community, my support system. In your own way, you all help me to be a better mom and a better person.

xoxo,

Rocio Laura

Fashion Attraction: A Cinematic LookBook Featuring The Dollhouse Factory

Hey Beauties!!!!

You know creativity is my favorite aspect of the entire YouTube process, and you guys enjoyed my previous cinematic lookbook so much, that I just had to do another one!

I'm very happy and excited today to present to you guys my current baby, the project I've been working on for the last few weeks "Fashion Attraction: A Cinematic LookBook". The dresses in this video were provided by The Dollhouse Factory. A huge thank you to them for making this video possible! You can check them out here: http://www.thedollhousefactorymiami.com/

Below you will find a full review of the dresses, lots of photos, and the cinematic video. I'll also provide the specific links for the dresses shown in the video throughout this blog post. Finally, an enormous thank you to my team who is ever patient with me when I enter crazy-work-monster-mode. My gorgeous male model Junior, who is always available to film with me on a moments notice: follow him on instagram @marvelkid87 Also, my amazing director Chris Santos who has the uncanny power of taking my random, confusing explanations and turning it into the exact vision that I had for the video. He also is the muscle behind the editing of these cinematic videos (wish he could edit all my videos!! lol I hate editing!). Follow him on instagram @triplestarpro +TripleStarProductions

Moving on to the good stuff: for all my fashion lovers, I must say I was skeptical at first. I have found that with club/party clothing it can be a great hit or miss. Thankfully this website was a huge hit! The clothing is well made and the fabric is amazing. Many times these skin tight, sexier styles also tend to be on the thinner side - thus leaving you basically naked and see through, thank God for dark lighting in the clubs. The Dollhouse Factory items were all nice THICK fabric and not at all see-through. That was my greatest concern prior to receiving the dresses and I was very happily satisfied when they arrived.

My next concern was structure and seams. I have ordered clothing in the past and received crooked seams or loose strings. All of the dresses were well sown and tightly stitched. The seams were straight and in place. One of the dresses, however, has an altercation with the shoulder strap. It was accidentally turned and stitched that way so that it did not lie flat. A huge concern of mine when shopping online is how companies will deal with problems, should any arise. I was very satisfied with the response from the company. I emailed them about the issue and sent over a photo taken on my iphone to show that the strap was twisted and I had a replacement dress in less than 48 hours at no extra cost or delivery fees. I actually still have the original dress and am considering bringing it to a tailor to be fixed and gifting it to one of my friends for her birthday, (but shhh don't tell her).

The fit of the dresses is also amazing. I ordered a size small in all three styles and they all hug my curves in the right way. Overall I could not be happier with the styles, quality, and make of the items. The customer service was also amazing and prompt - big for me because I have very little patience (I'm working on it....) I'm happy to say I've found a new site to add to my go-to party wear list. Their styles are very sexy but maintain an air of class and the colors and prints will definitely make you the center of attraction at any event you attend, in the best way. Show Stoppers anyone?

Spring Blossom OOTD

Hey beautiful!!

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!! Yesterday was such a beautiful day here in NYC that I decided to go to the city with Noel. We went to the Museum of Natural History and then for a little walk through Central Park. After all the excitement we were both starving so we went uptown to Mama Sushi - one of our favorite places to eat, Noel loves their french fries. It was a nice family day and we were able to enjoy the gorgeous weather.

I've been on a Super Duper romper kick lately so once I woke up and saw that sun shining I knew it was the perfect day to wear a romper. The one I wore yesterday is from Shop Lately. If you're not familiar Shop Lately is a website that hosts a bunch of small boutiques. It's kind of like going to the mall or a flea market without leaving the house. I love being able to browse items from different boutiques and I usually find really cute things! I'll leave the link to romper below in the outfit details as well as my Shop Lately profile link so you guys can check out what items I've been adding to my favorites and considering picking up in the future.

Anywho, I love this particular romper because of 3 key features. First is the flowy shape which feels like a dress but provides the coverage of shorts. The material is so light weight that I just want to dance around all day and make the fabric float. Secondly, I adore the open back. Yesterday was a little windy so I paired the romper with a cardigan from the Gap but in the summer time this will be the perfect romper to wear with a top knot bun. (And here's a secret - I'm looking into getting two new tattoos soon that will look so cute in the summer when my hair is up and my back is out, but shhh don't tell anyone yet I want it to be a surprise) The final key feature of this romper that made me do a double take is definitely the color!! The video and photos do not do it justice. The pink is so pretty and vibrant but its balanced perfectly by the background color of the fabric. I absolutely fell in love!

For shoes I wore an old pair of sandals from Target that had the perfect color combination to match with the romper. To finish off the look I grabbed my over-sized JustFab purse and was out the door.

I apologize in advanced, the photos are a little out of focus, but I also filmed a short ootd video where you can see the outfit perfectly. I hope you enjoy this post and let me know what you think!

xoxo

28 Days of Style: Day 3 Dark and Glamorous

Hi Beauties!!

Today I'm sharing with you my outfit from last night. I had hoped to get it up yesterday but I got back home too late to prepare this post. In the end, it worked out perfectly because today I've just been home in pj's all day. I woke up feeling under the weather so I decided to take it easy today and gather back my strength. So unfortunately I have no stylish Day 4 outfit for you guys but I hope you enjoy what I wore last night.

I received a last minute invitation to a Brooklyn Nets basketball game last night and had to rush to pull together an entire look in about an hour. Being a Brooklyn girl born and raised, missing the game was not an option. To cut corners I stuck with quick messy top knot for my hair and a simple smokey eye with a bold red lip. For my outfit I was feeling dark and glamorous as I attempted to channel my inner Beyonce. Overall, I was happy with the final look. What do you guys think? What did you wear yesterday to start off your week?

Happy Februaryyyyyyyy!!!

The month of love is finally here!! I especially like February because it reminds me that spring is right around the corner. In celebration of that beautiful thought, and as a way to share some love with all of you, I came up with the idea to do a fashion challenge this month. I'm calling it the 28 Days of Style Challenge!!

Each day in the month of February my goal is to upload a new outfit blog post to share some fashion inspiration with all of you! You guys can join in on the fun also. I'll be uploading preview and teaser pictures to my instagram page with the hashtag #28DaysofStyle and I encourage you guys to share your style with me as well. If you decide to recreate any of my looks or you just want to share your own OOTD with me then use the hashtag #28DaysofStyle so that I can see your looks. I'll be sharing my favorites on my own instagram page every week, or maybe every couple of days if you guys really wow me with your fashion sense (which I'm sure you will!).

I hope you guys like this idea! I thought it would be a cute way to interact with all of you. Now, without further ado I present to you Day 1: Leather Sweetheart...

City Date + Lush Overload

Helllloooo beautiful!

The weekend is hereeeeeeeeee! Woohooooo! Yesterday I had an early start to my day since Noel had an am dentist appointment. (He got his first teeth cleaning!!! AND he didn't throw up on the dentist this time, I was so proud)

I decided to take advantage of having an early start and head into the city to spend a nice calm shopping day with my little guy. Our first and main stop was Lush on 34th street. Boy did I go crazy! I try not too go to Lush too often, once every few months, but when I do go I like to stock up for the months ahead. I especially love love love their bath bombs, bubble bars and fresh face masks. Those products are what made me a Lushie to begin with but now I'm actually starting to branch out and try some of their other products as well.

Below is my blog haul of what I picked up as well as my OOTD. Enjoy my loves!

Thank you to my 4 year old for the great OOTD pic he took of me! He may become my new photographer lol.
Outfit details: boots - steve madden, colored skinny jeans - gap, top - old navy, sweater - NY&Co

My big bag of gooodddiiess!!

Of course I had to pick up my favorite everrrrrr face mask - "oatifix" from the fresh face mask line at Lush. This time around I also picked up "the sacred truth" to give it a try. I used it last night and it left my face feeling very fresh but it didn't give me a deep down cleaning. I also got "ocean salt" which is a face and body scrub (exfoliant) that came highly recommended by a good friend of mine. I can't get over the delicious smell and it's infused with real vodka - hello happy hour!
In the plastic tube is the "dark angels" cleanser. It's targeted for oily skin which I do not have but sometimes I get carried away in Lush. It was cool and pretty and I wanted black stuff on my face so I asked for about $7 worth of product and they measure the amount for you. At least I didn't buy a full size of a product that isn't really for my skin type. =0]

I picked up another pack of "fun" for Noel. He has the green one but wanted a different color. Basically this works as clay in the sense that you can mold and make whatever you want. Then you crumble it into the bathtub under running water and get tons and tons of bubbles. Noel adores this stuff!! And it makes him excited to take a bath - a mommy's dream come true!

Below are two newbies that I'm trying out. The green one is called "sugar scrub" and the name explains exactly what it is. Dry winter skin - I'm ready for you!!! The white heart like shape is called "shimmy shimmy" and it acts as a solid lotion almost (You rub it on your body) but it leaves behind the most gorgeous shimmer!!! Perfect to use before a night out, I'm so excited to try that out!!! Now I just need some plans.

Below we have my weakness: Bath Bombs. In my defense two of these are for Noel! Three are a repurchased of bombs I've tried before and one is a new one for me! Clockwise starting from the blue robot: "ickle baby bot" (for Noel), "Twilight" (loveee the colors and the scent is so soothing and calming for night time baths), "sex bomb" (probably one of the most popular and best sellers, love it), "pink" (my new purchase), "space girl" (for Noel, and I told him it's called space boy if not he wouldn't have wanted it, but I know he will love this one), and finally "Pheonix rising" (again I adore the smell and colors of this one as well!)

Finally the bubble bars!!!!!! These little guys seriously make the bath sooo much fun, even for an adult. I especially love how this fills up the tub with so many bubbles. I'm totally guilty of making bubble beards in the tub! The best part is the these last you a few uses. You can just break off a piece and save rest and you still get bubble overload. Below I have (left - right) "french kiss" (a fav of mine), "sunnyside" (my absolute favorite bubble bar, it literally feels like you're taking a bath in liquid gold and it's super glittery also), and "dorothy" (my first time trying this one)

Let me know if you guys have ever been to Lush before and what's your favorite product? Or what would you love to try? Below I'm leaving you guys with the video of my fall makeup tutorial that I posted earlier this week. I've been obsessed with this makeup look lately. I hope you like it too!

Love you guys, have a great weekend!!!!

xoxo Rocio Laura
