ASOS Beauty Calendar + Happy New Year 2017

Happy New Year!!!!!

As you read this post, I hope you are all having an amazing day. I want to wish you all the best of kick offs to 2017 and a year full of love, health, growth and prosperity.

Today I thought it would be fun to share with you guys my ASOS Beauty Calendar from December 2016.

I was super excited when this wonderfulness arrived in the mail! In the form a 24 day, gift a day, advent calendar, ASOS pulled together some of the top beauty products into one place. Each day you open up a door and find a new goodie inside.

Originally, I mentioned this box of happiness in my lately favorites video, which I'll leave here for you guys to watch. I was planning to create the blog post shortly after Christmas, however, I pushed it back to January 1st, 2017. I thought it would be a great way to kick off 2017. On the surface, you're opening up one beauty item per day, but the deeper meaning resonated with me. There is a new gift in every day, a reason to be excited, something to look forward to. What a powerful message to start the new year with.

Let's jump right into what each day included. I photographed everything from day 1 to day 24 chronologically. If I'm being perfectly honest with you guys I have never really been sure where and advent calendar is supposed to begin.... Do I start at day 24 and count my way down? Or do I start at 1 and work my way up to 24? Either way, here are the beauty items included in the ASOS Holiday Calendar.

Day 1: Amie Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish
Day 2: Batiste Root Boosting Powder
Day 3: Burt's Bees tinted lip balm
Day 4: Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream
Day 5: Dermalogica Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash

Day 6: Nip + Fab Daily Cleansing Pads
Day 7: Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream
Day 8: Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm
Day 9: GlamCandy Moisturizer
Day 10: Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer

Day 11: Murine Bright & Moist Eyes
Day 12: The Green Balm Multi Purpose Balm
Day 13: DIY Nails Nailcals
Day 14: Nude by Nature Translucent Finishing Powder
Day 15: Purity Cleanser

Day 16: Matte Me Lip Cream
Day 17: Toni & Guy Texturising Spray
Day 18: Yes To Cucumbers Facial Wipes
Day 19: Cowshed Soothing Hand Cream
Day 20: Nuxe Multi Purpose Dry Oil

Day 21: Philip Kingsley Elasticizer
Day 22: Monu Skin Firming Fiji Facial Oil
Day 23: Model Co Lip Enhancer
Day 24 Lottie London Compact Mirror

All I can say is WOW! There are some amazing items in here that I've loved in the past, some I've heard raved about but never tried myself, and others that are completely new to me! Even some new brands I wasn't familiar with. I would say it's the perfect balance. I'm really excited to include all of the goodies into my makeup and skin care routines.

Also, I have to note the size of everything is fantastic. They are all deluxe sized samples. More product gives you more uses and more time to form a good personal opinion of the product. It's perfect for those in the market for new products to try out 24 different beauty items!

That's all for today my loves. I wish you, once again, the happiest of years in 2017. Cheers to a new year, new beauty products, and finding beautiful gifts inside each and everyday.

All my love,
Rocio

New 2015 Skin Care Products - Peter Thomas Roth

Hey Babies!

Today, let's talk skin care. I was lucky enough to be invited into the home of Peter Thomas Roth last month for an exclusive holiday launch party. First and foremost, being the holiday freak that I am, I have to note that the decor was absolutely stunning!!!!

Along with some of my absolute favorite New York based vloggers and a few new faces, we got to preview the newest products in the Peter Thomas Roth line - some of which haven't even hit the shelves yet. Best part? The swag bag included one of each product (except for the mud mask which I will talk about but I don't have to show you - BUT I seriously think I'll be purchasing it when it hits shelves because I loved it and it was so dark and must look cool on your face haha).

One of my favorite goodies was the 24K Gold Mask. I had actually purchased this from Sephora about a month before the event just because I thought it looked so cool. I had been loving this product so far. Not only does it look cool on - yes I know, the simple things excite me - it's also super amazing for your skin. My favorite part of ALL Peter Thomas Roth masks is that they do NOT, never, ever dry or harden. You can literally leave it on for an hour if you so choose and it will still be moist on the face until you wash it off. This particular one is called the Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Mask. It contains pure 24K gold in it and is a great anti-aging treatment. The mask leaves a glowy look to your skin afterward which gives a very healthy happy impression. This is a great prep item before a big date or important event. It also contains caffeine to help tighten, lift, firm and revitalize skin. Your skin is left looking refreshed and youthful.

A new favorite I discovered were the Cucumber De-Tox De-Puffing Eye-Cubes. These things are amaze-balls and will hit stores in February of 2015. They are perfect for the morning after a long day or a lot of partying. The pack comes with 6 eye-cubes and 6 pouches. In the first pic the cube on the right is liquid and the one on the left is frozen. You basically pop these bad boys in the freezer and they freeze into these eye-mazing eye-cubes. When you need one you just pop it into the pouch (second questions) and use ONE cube for both eyes by gently running it back and forth over your under eye area. Keep switching eyes every 10 or so seconds to not freeze that delicate eye area. This little cube is a power house of benefits. It has cucumber extract which soothes and detoxifies, Aloe Vera which soften and comforts skin (and is amazing for sun burn by the way), Arnica which has healing properties and helps diminish fatigue, dark circles and irritation, and caffeine which increases blood circulation and therefore reduces dark circles. Another benefit that I feel instantly after I use this product is a firming and actual tight feeling on my under eye area. I love that because I can actually feel like something is working and it makes me excited.

Next in the Cucumber De-Tox line is the foaming cleanser. This is a gentle cleanser good for all skin types that helps to detoxify, cleanse and soothe the skin. It also contains Sugarcane and Sugar Maple Extracts to promote cell turnover leaving you with more youthful looking skin.

The final product of the Cucumber De-Tox line that I have to show you today is the Hydrating Serum.  This is also great for all skin types and contains hyaluronic acid which is an amazing ingredient that increases hydration to the skin. Maintaining good moisture levels helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines.

The Un-Wrinkle Fast Acting Serum is the newest generation of this product. It contains Snail Conopeptide which has not been seen used before in skincare. This ingredient helps to reduce and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the face. It also has genuine Diamond Dust that creates a type of blur tool effects that will actually blur the look of lines and imperfections. This little bottle is basically a real life instagram filter! =0]

The Camu Camu Power Vitamin C Brightening Cleansing Powder is an interesting product. This is actually a water-activated powder that acts as a daily cleanser and exfoliant. It's gentle enough to be used daily and helps to leave the skin cleansed of impurities and brighten and firm the look of skin. This will be available in February 2015.

The Mega Rich Body Cleanser is full of vitamin E and pro vitamin B5 and now can be found in your room at a Hilton Hotel. This is an awesome partnership and a chance for you the get some extra pampering while on vacay with 6 products by Peter Thomas Roth being offered complimentary in the room. This body cleanser leaves the skin feeling fresh and moisturized and smells amazing.

The final product I have to share with you today will also be available in February 2015. This is the Brightening Bubble Mask Radiance Oxygenating Treatment. This mask brightens and helps to even out skin tone. It contains some ingredients that I found to be interesting because I had never heard of them before. The first is called Fiflow which draws in oxygen to the skin in order to create a plumping appearance. There is also Symwhite and Gigawhite which are natural skin-brightener peptide. Finally, Bearberry Extract is found in leaves and is a natural lightening compound to also brighten skin. The coolest part about this mask is that once you set it on your face it creates an oxygenated bubbling effect. You can then let it sit on the face and rinse it off or at any point just re-rub the product into your face to begin the bubbling effect all over again - without adding any new product.

The final product which I fell in love with but do not have to show you is called the Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask. This will be available in March of 2015. It contains Irish Moor Mud, Hijiji Seaweed, Volcanic Ash and Charcoal. It's a thick dark black and looks so cool to put it on. I'm really excited for this to come out and buy myself one so I can test it out more at home.

Okay loves, that;s all for today. I hope this helps anyone who is in the market for some new skin care products. Check out the brand and look into it some more. They use innovative ingredients and products to provide great results for your skin.

See you babes next Tuesday,

xoxo

Buxom Bronzed Beauty

Hey Beautiful!!!!

Today I want to share with you some products that I've been trying out over the summer. I have been absolutely loving them to create that bronzed goddess summer time look - which is my favorite look for this season. However, they can also be carried over and transitioned into the coming fall season, which I love.

Let's start with the Buxom Divine Goddess Luminizer, probably my favorite of the bunch I'm talking about today. It comes in one shade: Venus which is a sheer shimmering nude and retails for $28 exclusively at Sephora. I like it because it has a slight bronze tint to it. I like to apply it all over my face to give me that all-over glow but it can also be used in specific areas as a highlight.

This stuff IS potent so remember a little goes a long way, less is more, and all those other sayings. I apply it after my moisturizer but BEFORE my foundation. I find that applying it before my foundation - even when I use a full-coverage foundation - gives me just the right amount of 'goddess glow' shinning through. I loved this product all summer long and I will be carrying it into the fall for nights out or special events. Matte is big this upcoming fall season, but personally for special nights I still love my dewy glow.

Next up is the Buxom Hot Escapes Bronzer. This comes in two shades: Tahiti which is a golden bronze (the lighter color) and Maldives which is a rustic bronze (the darker color pictured). These also retail for $28 exclusively at Sephora.

I have been using and loving both colors. The lighter one I tend to use for day time and the darker one for night time. They both have very buildable coverage and work as an all over bronzer or for contouring. They also contain coconut oil which hydrates skin - as a dry skinned girl I loved this! The texture of the bronzers is very velvety and almost creamy which allows for a flawless and smooth application. I'm also a huge packaging girl and love any type of bronzer of blush that comes with an imprinted design. These bronzers make me feel that, if I could shrink myself down and walk along the bronzer, I would be walking along glittering smooth sand. Basically, opening these bronzers put me in a happy place, as weird as it sounds.

Finally, I'm sharing with you the Buxom Hold the Line Waterproof Eyeliners. These retail for $17 exclusively at Sephora.

They come in 8 different colors (shown below):
Call Me (matte black)
I'll Be Waiting (metallic pewter)
Pick Me Up (glittery navy blue)
Doors Unlocked (metallic purple)
Here's My Number (matte dark brown)
Come Over (glittery bronze)
Knock Twice (metallic taupe)
Ring My Bell (matte jade)

These bad boys are PIGMENTED!! I especially fell in love with them because they are great for on the go. They have a gel like formula which allows for easy glide application and the waterproof formula ensures that it will last all day and night, even on the water line) I have a huge problem applying a pencil eyeliner along my upper lash line, usually I opt for a gel liner and a brush but that's time consuming and it's extra things to carry around. Not to mention the brush, if placed in your purse or makeup bag after application, will get left over gel liner residue all over. I love being able to open up this pencil, go crazy with my cat eye, close the top and keep it movin'. The color selection is also great. For the summer the waterproof formula was a huge plus. Going into the fall season I feel like these colors are perfect for any day or night time fall themed look. They will definitely be transitioning with me into the next season. Below you can see swatches of all the colors.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review!! If you want to see these products in action check out my back to school makeup tutorial below. I did a quick and easy look for you guys that you can recreate for school days, work days or any day really. It's a nice natural look with a subtle pop of color thanks to some purple eyeliner. Let me know your thoughts!

Love you all!!!!

Rocio Laura
