Rock Your Hair

Hey loves!

Today I'm sharing with you guys a new haircare and styling line I've been using lately. The brand is Rock Your Hair by Michael O'Rourke http://www.rockyourhair.com/

I immediately loved how the products were centered around BIG hair! I loveeee big voluminous hair and if something promises me big hair I'm certainly all for it!

The Big Hair Rocks Shampoo and Conditioner smell amazing!!!! Of course that's the very first thing I check for. They are also paraben and sulfate free and do not dry your hair or fade color! It does add some volume to your hair, but if you have super long hair like I do it won't be anything sky high since the weight of your hair will pull down the volume. Overall it gives a great clean hair feeling and the conditioner is super moisturizing.

These next guys help a lot with the volume factor. The size matters Big Volume Root Lift and Get a Lift Volumizing Spray work in a similar manner. Both are sprays that add shine and are anti-frizz plus they give you a big volume boost. I spray it in and then work it into my roots with my fingers. The Rock Your Hair Bombshell Big Hair Powder is probably my favorite product in the line. It applies like a powder but dries clear and adds mega volume, almost like a gel pushing the hair up from the root. It also adds texture and shine.

The last two products I have to show you guys are styling essentials for me. The Spray it Hard Big Volume Hairspray is an excellent long holding hair spray that doesn't leave your hair stiff or sticky at all, which is a huge plus! Great hold and your guy can still run his fingers through your hair.
The Rock your Hair Leave-In Conditioner and Weightless Detangler is absolutely amazing. I can not pass a comb through my hair without using a detangler first and I have to admit this one has replaced my old detangler - which I had been using for years. It's super light weight and NO greasy feeling or greasy look on your hair which is one thing I check for immediately.

If you guys have tried out any products from this line let me know what you thought of it! Also check out my recent Voluminous Holiday Curls Video using my Nume Titan 3 set and these products. Thanks for stopping by today, love you <3

Snow Queen DIY Crown

Eeeekkkk! This post is extremely late! I had hoped to get it up in conjunction with my snow queen makeup tutorial... but then... life happened. It's too late for Halloween but maybe next year, or for a different event, this will come in handy.

Anyway, I hope you still enjoy this fun DIY and let some of these techniques inspire you to add your own twists to future projects. xoxo

What I used: (pretty much everything was from Michael's unless otherwise stated)
Glue Gun, Bendable Jewelry Wire, A work mat (from Joann's), Sticks and Twigs (from my back yard)

Snowflakes, Beads, Decorative Pipe Cleaners

Start by creating a loop on one side of your wire. Size the wire to your head in the shape of a head band and create a second loop at the other end. (These loops will help us secure the headband on with bobby pins later). DO NOT cut the wire yet!

Wrap the wire back and forth about 3 times to add some thickness. Cut the end and use pliers to fold and tuck the wire edges so that they don't poke into your head. Ouch!

BEgin to add your twigs and sticks in between the layers of wire. I used a hot glue gun to further secure them in there. Try to look for twigs that have a shape to them, not just straight ones.

On a work surface I glued down some "icicles" and let them dry. They're pretty easy to peel off once they are dried. Add these into your crown as well in the same way we added the sticks. For more dimension add some in front, in between, and behind the wire. This will make it look more 3D and also more realistic.

With the glue gun I placed a layer of glue completely around the wire. This will further help to stick everything into place, seal up any edges so you're not poked, and also give it an overall icy look.

Then I wanted some extra sparkle so I decided to wrap decorative pipe cleaners all the way around the base of my crown.

Next, with some stringed beads I added more decoration. This was a little time consuming because I had to hot glue each bead to the other and create my stack (since they were loose once I took the string off). I then glued the stacks around the crown.

What Snow/Ice Queen is complete without snowflakes??

Finally with some white paint I painted all the high points of the crown, where snow would normally land and stick, to give it an authentic winter wonderland look.

For a better look at the crown be sure to check out my makeup tutorial video below:

City Date + Lush Overload

Helllloooo beautiful!

The weekend is hereeeeeeeeee! Woohooooo! Yesterday I had an early start to my day since Noel had an am dentist appointment. (He got his first teeth cleaning!!! AND he didn't throw up on the dentist this time, I was so proud)

I decided to take advantage of having an early start and head into the city to spend a nice calm shopping day with my little guy. Our first and main stop was Lush on 34th street. Boy did I go crazy! I try not too go to Lush too often, once every few months, but when I do go I like to stock up for the months ahead. I especially love love love their bath bombs, bubble bars and fresh face masks. Those products are what made me a Lushie to begin with but now I'm actually starting to branch out and try some of their other products as well.

Below is my blog haul of what I picked up as well as my OOTD. Enjoy my loves!

Thank you to my 4 year old for the great OOTD pic he took of me! He may become my new photographer lol.
Outfit details: boots - steve madden, colored skinny jeans - gap, top - old navy, sweater - NY&Co

My big bag of gooodddiiess!!

Of course I had to pick up my favorite everrrrrr face mask - "oatifix" from the fresh face mask line at Lush. This time around I also picked up "the sacred truth" to give it a try. I used it last night and it left my face feeling very fresh but it didn't give me a deep down cleaning. I also got "ocean salt" which is a face and body scrub (exfoliant) that came highly recommended by a good friend of mine. I can't get over the delicious smell and it's infused with real vodka - hello happy hour!
In the plastic tube is the "dark angels" cleanser. It's targeted for oily skin which I do not have but sometimes I get carried away in Lush. It was cool and pretty and I wanted black stuff on my face so I asked for about $7 worth of product and they measure the amount for you. At least I didn't buy a full size of a product that isn't really for my skin type. =0]

I picked up another pack of "fun" for Noel. He has the green one but wanted a different color. Basically this works as clay in the sense that you can mold and make whatever you want. Then you crumble it into the bathtub under running water and get tons and tons of bubbles. Noel adores this stuff!! And it makes him excited to take a bath - a mommy's dream come true!

Below are two newbies that I'm trying out. The green one is called "sugar scrub" and the name explains exactly what it is. Dry winter skin - I'm ready for you!!! The white heart like shape is called "shimmy shimmy" and it acts as a solid lotion almost (You rub it on your body) but it leaves behind the most gorgeous shimmer!!! Perfect to use before a night out, I'm so excited to try that out!!! Now I just need some plans.

Below we have my weakness: Bath Bombs. In my defense two of these are for Noel! Three are a repurchased of bombs I've tried before and one is a new one for me! Clockwise starting from the blue robot: "ickle baby bot" (for Noel), "Twilight" (loveee the colors and the scent is so soothing and calming for night time baths), "sex bomb" (probably one of the most popular and best sellers, love it), "pink" (my new purchase), "space girl" (for Noel, and I told him it's called space boy if not he wouldn't have wanted it, but I know he will love this one), and finally "Pheonix rising" (again I adore the smell and colors of this one as well!)

Finally the bubble bars!!!!!! These little guys seriously make the bath sooo much fun, even for an adult. I especially love how this fills up the tub with so many bubbles. I'm totally guilty of making bubble beards in the tub! The best part is the these last you a few uses. You can just break off a piece and save rest and you still get bubble overload. Below I have (left - right) "french kiss" (a fav of mine), "sunnyside" (my absolute favorite bubble bar, it literally feels like you're taking a bath in liquid gold and it's super glittery also), and "dorothy" (my first time trying this one)

Let me know if you guys have ever been to Lush before and what's your favorite product? Or what would you love to try? Below I'm leaving you guys with the video of my fall makeup tutorial that I posted earlier this week. I've been obsessed with this makeup look lately. I hope you like it too!

Love you guys, have a great weekend!!!!

Just a Little Review, Especially for You!

Hey dolls!

Gooood Morningggggg, and happy Sunday!!!!

Hope you're all having an amazing day <3 I know I am. I was able to sleep late. When Noel and I finally woke up there was LOTS of excitement. Today is 3 King's Day. Just a quick little background for those curious, it is a holiday mostly celebrated by Catholics and it's very big in the Hispanic community. It marks the day that the 3 Kings arrived with gifts to greet baby Jesus. This morning when Noel woke up he found 3 gifts that the 3 Kings left for him. One was the movie Brave! Needless to say we watched it right away.

Any who, transitioning into the afternoon, I'm sitting in my makeup room surrounded by nice smelling candles while Noel sits on the floor next to me looking through picture books. AND I'm uploading a video and writing a blog post for YOU. Perfect morning.

Sometimes the simplest mornings can be perfectly happy and peaceful! Soooo on to the point of this particular blog post: A Review!!! I recently tried out a new foundation from a brand I was unfamiliar with. I was really happy with the product so I had to share it with you all. I'm including some pictures below. Check out my video for a Demo and a complete review of the company. Check out their website to learn even more about the brand: http://advancedmineralmakeup.com
