Floppy Hat Love: 50 Shades of Grey Inspired OOTD #2

Hey Babies!!

Here is the second outfit post from my 50 Shades of Grey inspired Fashion video. This is one of my absolute favorite looks from the video. This poncho/oversized scarf and hat are just Everything. I've also been on a huge all black everything kick lately but I actually like this look paired with blue jeans. It draws in a bit of color to break up the monochromatic palette but is such a basic that you still get the all black edgy vibe.

The Jeans are True Religion and the thermal is Hanes. Everything else is from H&M.

Poncho Lovin' OOTD

Hey Babies!

I've always had an attachment to all black. It's clean, simple and leaves so much to imagination. The fit of this outfit is also very sleek, even with the poncho on top. I especially love the V shape of the poncho because it helps to accentuate an hourglass figure. The poncho almost acts as an accessory in this look, along with the hat and shoes and, of course, the gold exposed zipper on the pants... yes zippers can flex as accessories in certain situations. Overall, I'm in love. Let me know your thoughts!

By the way, this is the final achieved outfit from 2014. Starting on Tuesday I'll be rolling out some NEW looks shot this past weekend as well as a teaser trailer of my new fashion video coming out February 6th. Hope you enjoy it all!

xoxo

Classic Elegance OOTD

Hey Beautiful!!!

Let's get fancy today! With Valentine's Day just around the corner I find my mind wandering to dressier date night looks. Although it seems I'll be spending my V-Day alone with some chocolate Haagen Dazs, as a YouTube and blogger it's my duty to give you guys ideas for the big day - plus, how much fun is it to play dress up!!

I've been allllll overrrr the midi skirt trend lately and I love how this one, from Zara, incorporates a lace overlay. It adds the perfect feminine touch to a super flattering silhouette. I kept the color palette simple, well mainly all black, but I did throw in a brown tweed jacket. Most people forget that black and brown, both being neutrals, actually work amazingly together! You don;t have to pick one of the other. This jacket also has black leather patches and piping which ties in to this look perfectly. I would totally wear this out to a dinner date or a dressy event.

Red Stilettos Can Conquer The World OOTD

Hey Loves!

Happy 2015!!! I hope you all had an amazing start to your year. I'm ready to embark on new journeys this year and to just all together move forward in positive directions!

To kick start my year on this blog I had to begin with a fashion post. This was shot a few weeks ago before the ridiculous cold came to New York but it's one of my favorite outfits. I'm a big fan of all white, but in this case the pops of red are a nice addition. Add a cozy beanie, my favorite heels ever, and a flow and comfortable fit.. nothing short of fashion magic.

I hope you guys enjoy this first look of the year and are excited for many more. My new blogging schedule will be Tuesdays and Thursdays for now. Along with a new video every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on my YouTube channel (MissBarbieBaby) and a new Spanish video every other Saturday. I'm ALSO commenting to a 365 day vlogging challenge so I will be recording every day of my life this year and sharing it with you all on my second YouTube channel (MissBarbieBabyTV). These are not your average butterflies and roses vlogs. They're real and raw and I cry a lot I notice lol. I also have two huge projects I'm working on and can't wait to share with you all!

I'm taking a lot under my wing work-wise this year but I'm excited for the journey.

Love you!

DIY Holiday Gifts in a Jar

Hey loves!!!

I uploaded a DIY Holiday Gifts in a Jar video and wanted to share the full details and instructions with you here. This is a great gift idea that is super simple and inexpensive to do. Plus, when you buy the needed ingredients you can usually end up making two jars from, for example, one bag of mini chocolate chips, etc.

Anyway, I will plug in the video here so you can watch how it's done and how I decorated my jars. I'll also add photos and full instructions below. I'm wishing you all a sugar wonderful holiday season and a happy and very healthy New Year!!!

Love you guys!

Rudolph's Red Velvet Waffle Mix

To prepare your jar:

Add 1 package of (Betty Crocker) red velvet cake mix into your 32 oz mason jar and pack it down. On top layer 1/2 cup of red sprinkles, followed by 1/2 cup of white chocolate chip morsels and finally 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips. Seal tightly.

Instructions to attach to the jar:

Heat waffle maker. Separate 3 eggs. Empty contents of jar into bowl; stir. Add 1 1/4 cup water, 1/2 cup oil, and egg yolks; stir with spoon until blended. In separate bowl with mixer beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gently fold egg whites into batter. Spread 3/4-1 cup batter over waffle iron. Close lid and bake until done, 2-3 minutes. Makes 6-7 waffles.

Mrs. Claus's Cookie Mix

To prepare your jar:

Combine 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/4 tsp salt in a bowl and mix with a spoon. Add this mixture to a 32 oz mason jar as the bottom layer. On top, layer 2/3 cup light brown sugar, followed by 1/2 cup m&m's (I like the special red and green holiday ones), then 1/2 cup chopped pecans and finally 1/2 cup coconut flakes. Seal tightly.

Instructions to attach to the jar:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. On medium, beat 3/4 cup room temp. butter until fluffy, 1 min. Beat in 2 eggs, 1 tbs vanilla extract. On low, beat in jar contents until blended. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls 2" apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake 12-15 min. Enjoy!

Best Ever Hot Cocoa Mix

To prepare your jar:

Combine 1 cup + 1 tbsp instant nonfat dry milk powder and 1/4 tsp cornstarch. Pour it into the bottom of a 24 oz or 32 oz mason jar. On top, layer 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, followed by 1/3 cup granulated sugar into the jar. On top off that add 1/3 cup coarse red decorating sugar, and finally a layer of 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Seal tightly.

Instructions to attach to the jar:

In large pot over medium-high heat, stir together cocoa mix, 6 cups milk and 1 1/2 cup water; bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, stirring occasionally, until smooth, creamy and slightly thickened, 1-2 minutes. If desired, garnish with whipped cream and red sugar crystals.
